How much btu's of heat produced from Cultivar III LED light grow lights
Imperial Definition: 1 BTU = the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit.
Joule = equal to the heat-energy applied to move one newton through a distance of one meter.
1 BTU of heat = 1055.056 Joules.
(in the metric system we use Calorie = the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature by 1 degree Celsius of 1 gram pure water.)
For HI/VAC design please use the following guidelines:
Cultivar III are made with high efficacy LED chips that produces 130-160 lumen per watt. In other words they produces 10 times more light than their incandescent counterparts.
In our estimation more than 35% of the electricity is converted in to light energy by our LEDs. So only 65% of the electricity is wasted into heat.
In our estimation 100 watt Cultivar III bar will produce 65 Joules per second. So for one minute it would produce (65 * 60) 3900 Joules or 3.6964 BTUs
A typical 4x4 Cultivar III 700 Watt light will generate only 1552.52 BTUs of heat per hour.
