Beijing based U-Tron Electroncis Company announced that their Lucas Series Street Lights using the Cree's LED technology has passed all tests to be listed under CSA for sales in Canada and USA.

Lucas Lights were first introduced to the market in 2008 and has been in operation for more than 10 countries around the world except the USA and Canadian markets. This will be first time for these lights to be sold in the northern American continent.

"Our lights comes with a 3 years warranty and have been in operation for more than 5 years. This is the first time we are introducing them to the Canadian market" said Mr. Raja Magasweran, the Managing Director who oversees the technical operation of the company. "The CSA-UL logo will also allow us to sell in the USA as well" he further added.

Ms. Wendy Wen the sales director commented "Lucas street lights have a good track record of long lasting and nearly "zero" maintenance. Quality is very important in our industry where there are too many companies making similar products and we want to differentiate our selves from the rest by offering true "zero maintenance products" Ms. Wen has been with the company for more than 6 years and claims to know where the market is heading. When we asked her what is the ratio of domestic vs export business she said "U-Tron is an engineering company developing LED products, our customers are from China as well as from international. But every thing we design ultimately get shipped out of China to foreign countries. We do service a small percentage of local customers. Its very hard to give you a definite number but I think 10 to 20 % local and 80 to 90% exports. Its very important to have this approval so we can now start selling to Canada and USA"

When asked if U-Tron holding any other UL certified products, Mr. Abraham Tinaza, the Chief Technical Officer at U-Tron said "We only had the CE certification for many of our products, but so far this is our first North American listings. We have planned for 4 more products to be certified for this year, but we may go to the UL center instead of the CSA test center since most of the products are targeted for the USA market."

UL and CSA compliance test centers have offices in China to certify if a product meets the safety standards. Unless products pass these tests, the product will be considered un-safe to enter USA or Canada markets.

End.
